Edo 2016: Ize-Iyamu Emerges As PDP Candidate



Gov Umahi & Okowa @ Edo PDP Governorship PrimaryA former Secretary to the State Government, Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, has been declared the winner of the Peoples Democratic Party gubernatorial primary held at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, the state capital.
Ize-Iyamu polled a total of 584 votes to defeat Matthew Iduoriyekemwen and Solomon Edebiri.

The Chairman of the PDP Primary Committee and Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi, while declaring the results urged all aspirants to join hands with the wins to ensure success for the PDP come 10 September, 2016.
Matthew Iduoriyekemwen came second with 91 votes and Solomon Edebiri, third with 38.
Umahi was accompanied by the Governors of Delta and Gombe States, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and Ibrahim Dakwambo.
In his acceptance speech, Ize-Iyamu, extended a hand of fellowship to the other contestants “I hereby extend a hand of fellowship to my fellow contestants and I call for party unity. Beyond our personal quests, the yearning of our people for great governance must tower above everything else. We are stronger when we unite”IMG_20160620_133652
