The Hospital Administrator of St. Gerald Hospital Reverend Sister Beatrice Danladi on Thursday sacked one of her staff for alleged refusal to collect in-complete payment from a patient’s relative.
According to the Victim Mrs Abah Eneh Franca ‘’the relative of Gandu Duchi brought a scan form for payment carrying one of the doctor’s writing ‘pay N6000’ for scanning, since it was on a Saturday and the Hospital policy is that all scanning payments on weekends attracts extra 500 naira which means that Mr.Gandu’s relative was to pay 6500 naira and I referred her to the doctor who wrote 6000 naira to correct it and I didn’t go myself because there were many other patients’ relatives waiting for my service, Gandu’s relative took the form and never returned.
‘’The next thing I got was a letter of invitation from the Hospital’s Disciplinary committee summoning me for not collecting 6500 from the same Gandu’s relative who brought 6000 and was told to go and bring 6500 naira or seek clarification’’ she maintained.
Mrs Abah also confirmed that the St.Gerald disciplinary committee in a letter signed by Doctor Imoh Onyemaechi on the 14th of June titled ‘Letter of Refund’ ordered her to pay the sum of 6500naira to the hospital within 24 hours of receiving the letter which she paid and within 48 hours of payment she also received a sack letter duly signed by Reverend Sister Beatrice Danlandi dated 16th of June 2016, titled ‘Dismissal of Appointment’
Reacting on the issue, St.Gerald Public Relations Officer Mr. Danladi Ali who spoke with pressmen on phone said, ‘’its false, you are acting on false information, secondly Gandu Duchi and his relative spoke with us on phone and confirmed she refuse collecting money from them, so she has decided to open it in the air, if she continues this way she will regret it’’
Meanwhile the dismissal letter which came on the 16th June 2016 was not accompanied with June salary which she has worked for.
