Kaduna APC Crisis: I belong to all camps – Shaaban

An All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain in Kaduna state, Alhaji
Sani Mohammed Shaaban who is a traditional title-holder of Dan Buran
Zazzau has said that he neither belong to APC Akida or APC Government
House, in the crisis that is bedeviling the party in Kaduna State.

In a statement he issued to the press, Shaaban a one-time member of
the House of Representatives, and also a governorship candidate of the
defunct All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) and the Action Congress of
Nigeria (A.C.N.) respectively in the 2007 and 2011 traced the
political history of oppositions in Kaduna, and the struggled that
 culminated into 2015 victory.

He lamented that the crisis at this time is regrettable as it is
coming at a time when the masses, who have suffered for too long, were
hoping to reap the dividends of their hard-earn victory. Instead, what
they are saddled with are distractions of a few who want to scuttle
 all that was fought for.

Shaaban said that being a prominent member of the party, he will not
in anyway take sides with any faction, adding that:”I have mutual
relationships with many politicians in the state, and many of my
acquaintances and associates with whom we struggled to win this
election were in both camps. What is happening now is the resurgence
of political games playing at the moment. Our only hope is for this
crisis to be nipped in the bud.”

“The people of Kaduna don’t need this distraction at this point in
time, what they want to see and enjoy are the dividends of democracy
they yearn for too long,” he added.

Shaaban explained that what is paramount to him and all well-meaning
Nigeria is to initiate a reconciliation process that would encompass
all the stakeholders of the party at the state level and some of its
elders at the national level in order to nip the crisis in the bud.

He added that his only message to all those involved in the crisis is
for them to reflect over a saying that what peace cannot bring,
certainly, anarchy and violence will never achieve it.

“What people need at this particular time of hard economic situation
is how to survive, and these social problems couldn’t be solved under
political uncertainty, therefore, I am appealing to all those involved
to sheath  their swords and allow peace to reign.”

“The two camps should take note that all those foot-soldiers fanning
the embers of the crisis, are doing so out of what they are
benefiting, and we are now in the Holy month of Ramadan which put
emphasis more on forgiveness, reconciliation and seeking God’s
blessing, hence we should utiilise this period wisely, he stated.

He also called on well-meaning Nigerians from both religious divide to
pray for the peace and progress of this nation and to support and pray
for President Muhammadu Buhari to succeed in his desire to develop
 Nigeria.
